RPP Moto is a newly formed division of manufacturing company Ranger Point Precision LLC in Houston, TX. Founders Adam and Kimberly Devine lend more than two decades of combined experience to this new endeavor, along with the stellar reputation of parent company RPP, which has brought dozens of innovative, high quality products successfully to market.
For CEO Adam Devine, RPP Moto is a return to his roots. He started exploring the Missouri Ozark Hills at age 12 on his first dirt bike, and simply never stopped, riding or exploring. His mother still regrets that first introduction to motorcycles.
While studying Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana State University in 1991, Adam fell in love with the art of motorcycle maintenance, eventually rebuilding a Honda CB1100F and walking away from a full-ride academic scholarship to embark on his first great adventure. His mother was appalled.
That first adventure on a Honda CB1100F became a two month long solo trip covering nearly 5,000 miles of the American West, and forever marrying motorcycles and adventure in Adam’s mind. Upon his return, Adam’s mechanical advisor, the incomparable performance engine builder, Brad Mattei, hired him as an apprentice, and the course was set.
A couple of years later Adam, now with a solid foundation in the trade, moved with his new bride, Kimberly, to the San Francisco Bay area, one of the country’s great motorcycling meccas. There he would sharpen his skills--both on two wheels and at the bench--for a decade more, eventually veering from his mentor’s specialty to focus on chassis and suspension setup. He would also complete a second cross-country trip on a Honda XX Blackbird and participate in tons of track days at Sonoma Raceway, Thunderhill Raceway, Club Moto Motocross track and others.
While in the SF Bay Area, Adam was head-tech at East Bay Motorsports, Moto Italiano, and the International Motor Exchange (IMX), and he also worked in R&D at KLM Cycle Supply where he commuted rain or shine or various motorcycles. By the time he left the industry and the Bay Area, Adam was a sought after expert in his own right. He was also a well seasoned rider, with over half a million miles on twisty roads, trails, and race tracks.
Adam's riding experience: 30+ years, over half a million miles on the following motorcycles: Honda CRF1000 Africa Twin, Honda C750X, Honda CBR650F, Honda 750 Nighthawk (retro street tracker project), KLR 650, XR650L, Triumph Tiger, Aprilia Pegaso, KTM 990 Adventure. He also worked on and test rode hundreds of models from these manufacturers: Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM, Ducati, Triumph, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Laverda.
In Texas, Adam and Kimberly--an equally sought after PR professional--regrouped and reinvented, starting a family and eventually combining talents to try their hand at entrepreneurship. Like many, their first attempt foundered, but in 2013 the inauspicious launch of Ranger Point Precision heralded an American success story in the making.
Originally formed to build custom Marlin lever-action rifles, RPP rapidly built itself a fine reputation in the market. By year three, Adam had become widely acknowledged as one of the world’s leading experts on Marlin rifles, during which time RPP had also begun designing and manufacturing aftermarket parts for the same. By 2017, with dozens of innovative and successful parts in the company’s catalog and more in the pipeline, the path to sustained growth was obvious, so RPP shuttered its gunsmith business and switched our focus entirely to manufacturing.
And then, in an odd turn of events, the youngest Devine, Audrey, who had been enjoying her daddy/daughter neighborhood Honda XR250 excursions, suddenly wanted something bigger, faster, and with her own set of foot pegs. Of course daddy complied with no reluctance whatsoever, and the two picked out a nice little Honda CBR650F that fit the bill.
Not surprisingly, this precipitated a re-ignition sequence with Adam’s first true love. Before anyone could protest, more new motorcycles came home, and Adam, now an accomplished, self taught designer with access to a full CNC machine shop, was spending every spare minute designing motorcycle parts. With her son and granddaughter now in the saddle, his mother despaired of ever getting another restful sleep. And that’s how RPP Moto was born. Sleepless nights all around.
RPP Moto draws deeply from Adam’s background in motorcycle mechanics, his expertise in suspension, and his passion for adventure. But it demands just as much from Kimberly, whose expertise in business development, operations, marketing, and customer relations has been instrumental in making RPP a highly regarded success. Along with a dedicated, enthusiastic team of highly skilled machinists, the Company’s goal is--as always--to provide innovative, high quality, American made parts and incomparable customer service.
